By replacing the early generations of mechanically controlled selvedge thread let-offs through precise and electronically controlled selvedge let-offs, a multitude of advantages for the whole production process and for the products are achieved. Beside a simplified display-based system control functionality the important control of the thread tension is facilitated by direct comparison of measured actual tension values with the reference values. The intelligent drive control ensures perfect and constant thread tension in the selvedge area and grants high reproducibility. The integrated interface allows external visualization of the process data as well as remote maintenance. As a result, security, ease of use and efficiency increases throughout the weaving process.
