FROM NOVEMBER 2nd – 3rd 2021, THE 19TH EUROPEAN AIRLINE TRAINING SYMPOSIUM (EATS 2021) TOOK PLACE IN BERLIN. BRUNNER JOINED FORCED WITH LUFTHANSA AVIATION TRAINING (LAT) FROM ZÜRICH AND PRESENTED THE BRANDNEW NOVASIM MR | DA42.
Numerous participants took the opportunity to take a personal test flight and were deeply impressed by the highly realistic flight experience and the stunning qualities of the Mixed-Reality implementation presented.
The European Airline Training Symposium (EATS) supported by EASA is the leading aviation training event for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This annual conference and tradeshow specializing in aviation training and simulation brings together the industry’s leading professionals to promote safety and share best practice in pilot and cabin crew training.
The NOVASIM MR | DA42 replicates the twin-engine Diamond DA42 aircraft and is equipped with FlightSafety International’s Mixed-Reality Flight technology integrating its VITAL 1150 level-D image generator. While wearing a VAJO XR-3 Mixed-Reality headset, the pilot interacts with real cockpit avionics and controls. The MR technology seamlessly merges the real cockpit and the virtual 360-degree outside view in the headset to give the pilot full immersion, with no limits on the field of view as it is normal within traditional flight simulators.
Lufthansa Aviation Training Switzerland – formerly SWISS Aviation Training – is a 100% subsidiary of Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH based in Munich. Every year around 12,000 graduates complete their training at LAT Switzerland.
